Our District council in their wisdom have axed the post of arts and events officer - however …. the officer, Amanda Smith is still in post for a few more days. We had a long chat about the work she is doing with “Switched On” a community interest company that has grown out of the Coleford Festival. Vicky Thornton is the other main person in Switched On. They are running a Talent show (linked with play festival) – age group up to 24 on 1st August. Amanda Smith was very supportive of the idea of working collaboratively to devleop more gigs for you bands. She has been meeting with Coleford Inspector Chris Thorley to discussed issues around the Coleford Music Festival. District Council - Officers who may have an interest in GMF now Amanda’s post has gone. Steve Kendall Economic Development and property group manager. (not Leisure). Andy Barge – Customer Services and Wellbeing manager Kate Wyatt - manages the play strategy. Carolyn Mitchell - Funding officer, also manages various community regeneration projects.
